"These are a few of my favorite things!" sings Julia Andrews in the hit 1965 drama and romance, a lovely film called The Sound of Music. As her joyous rendition of turning life's lemons into lemonade reminds us all of how to maintain a positive perspective on life, I couldn't help but to think of a few of my own favorite things!

One of my single most blissful experiences in life is enjoying a fresh cup of hot tea, and I happen to love everything about the process and the finished product alike.
I love that I am able to think, feel and perform to best of my heart's desires. The fact that I am able to think of taking pleasure in drinking hot tea and to then know I have the capacity to simultaneously fulfill my sole desire is a comforting sentiment.
I love the opportunity to choose my preferred taste of tea, to have the freedom of choice and the privileges that allow for favoritism. I'm thankful for the images of friends and family members who cross my mind when I see their favorite teas, as well.
I love the ability to have access to fresh water or to a stove with which I may boil water to a standard of purification. I am immediately grateful to all of whom have helped to ensure this level of aquatic purity, and I am hopeful that those lacking this luxury are soon granted their cup runneth over.
I love the precious moments of time that I utilize for reflection on my day or simply the present task at hand. Focusing on my breathing, I am aware of every aspect of my being and thankful for this moment of peace and serenity.
I love the sweet raw cane sugar that sweetens my beverage to perfection and leaves me feeling like I've just left Walgreens, "at the corner of happy and healthy!" The origin of this product never goes without thought, as I am certain to think of the lands in which they've been imported and the ancestral linkage I share with this commodity. Laughingly, I think of the Britisth Queen whose teeth rotten from too much sugar consumption during the height of the Caribbean sugar cane slave trade to Great Britain. A great reminder to keep everything in moderation, aye!
I love the warmth that escapes my tea mug as I carefully seep natural herbal tea leaves with beneficial and often medicinal properties into the warm liquid. I think of the precious trees, plants, and herbs that have consolodated for my benefit, and the generations of age old wisdom that have created practices and traditions as simple as the modern tea bag.
I love the aroma. Breathing in deeply and drawing the sweet mist nearer, I feel a light exfoliation embrace my face and an opening of my lungs welcome in a pleathora of new oxygen.

Mmmmm, goodness!
I think to myself.
Then the first sip is..
Calming.
Soothing.
Perfection!
For the following 15 minutes,
I will not stress, not worry nor care entirely too much about anything other than one of my favorite things, a gloriously divine spot of tea!
